Zwift academy Tri

Back in February it was announced that Zwift and Specialized were partnering to make the Zwift Academy Tri team. The focus  of this partnership is to branch Zwift’s training network, as well as support the age group triathlete community. The selected age group triathletes will have access to some of the best smart trainers and treadmills. Coaching and mentoring from Ironman champions Tim Don and Lucy Charles. Additionally, Specialized will be outfitting the team with an S-Works Shiv, road shoes, Evade helmet and Specialized training apparel. This in all in an effort to help the selected athletes to qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI.

So, without further ado let’s meet our 2018 Zwift Academy Tri team.

Rachael Norfleet – USA

Living in Kansas City, MO, Rachael balances working multiple jobs and being in school with training. Often short on time to train, she needs to make every pedal stroke count and Zwift has been her answer. Fun facts? Rachael in her first triathlon put on her wetsuit backwards!

Golo Philipee Rohrken – Germany

Residing in Hamburg, Germany, Golo balances training with his job as a physician. Fun facts? Golo listens to “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift before every race.

Geert Janssens – Belgium

When Geert isn’t on the bike, lacing up his shoes or diving into the pool, he is at work as a police detective. And if that wasn’t a fun fact. Geert is the founder of the Belgian Beer Mile Foundation.

Rex Rimmington – UK

Her first love was swimming, where she competed at the national level until she was 18. Next it was running, representing her country on the international stage. Then she began tandem piloting for the visually impaired riders in 2009 and earned a #1 ranking in 2010. A fun fact? On her first tandem ride, she mistakingly rode off without her partner. Realizing something was wrong when no one responded to her questions.
