PART 2: Age group drafting in Kona

Age group drafting is always a topic of much debate. In Daniel Clarke's second video, he shares his own suggestion on how to minimize drafting.

In part one, I discussed the drafting issue at the Ironman World Championship, and why I don’t think the four commonly proposed solutions would work.

Four Common Suggestions

  • Fewer athletes on the start line
  • A two-day event and split the field
  • Age group rolling start
  • Age group wave start

For this video, I provide my solution. Some traditionalists might not like it, but I think it will help relieve the congestion coming out of T1 and help grow the sport around the world.
