VIDEO: Rachel McBride will race Ironman Lanzarote on a road bike

Ironman Lanzarote has arguably one of the hardest bike courses in the world, and McBride plans to do it on a road bike.

Two weeks after crashing out of Ironman 70.3 Pays d’Aix, Rachel McBride (CAN) will compete at Ironman Lanzarote this weekend. In an interview with Kevin Mackinnon, Editor of Triathlon Magazine Canada, McBride shares her training, recovery and plan to race Lanzarote on a road bike.

On Saturday, McBride will be going up against the likes of Emma Pallant (GBR) and Debe Griesbauer (USA). A two-time World Duathlon Champion, Pallant has successfully made the transition to long course racing, having now won several Olympic and half-Ironman races – including 70.3 Pays d’Aix on May 12th.
