Video: Cody Beals preps for upcoming races

TMC headed to Fegus, Ontario to follow rising pro Cody Beals around for a day of training. Under the guidance of coach David Tilbury-Davis, Beals trains full time for the half distance. His first priority race of the 2016 season is the Ironman 70.3 South American Championship in Palmas, Brazil in early April but Beals raced before that last weekend in Monterrey.

“I don’t like to call races a tune-up,” he explains, “Because I never show up to a 70.3 not expecting to bring pretty close to my A-game.”

In this video, Beals completes a typical daily session including a swim, run, strength workout and bike, all as part of an intense training block consisting of 18-hour weeks.
