Five Canadians join roster of superstars on this year’s Island House Invitational Triathlon start list

The Island House Invitational Triathlon released its preliminary start list for this year’s three-day event, which kicks off on October 28th. This year’s field is more than double last year’s but has the same blend of international short course and long course talent. Across the last weekend of October, we’ll see some of the sport’s best take on the clock and each other in a series of three non-drafting races unlike any other in the sport’s history. With the second largest prize purse in triathlon offered up at this exclusive event, we’re sure to see some fierce racing from champions going head-to-head for a share of $500,000 USD.

Among the list of 20 men and 20 women on the preliminary start list are Canadians Heather and Trevor Wurtele, Magali Tisseyre, Brent McMahon and Lionel Sanders. Each have multiple podium finishes (four out five have wins) from major events in 2016 alone.

The Island House Invitational triathlon offers a one-hour TV broadcast showcasing pre-race events, the competitors, and the race itself.
