Challenge Family Denmark returns to the Jutland region on June 13, 2015.  The race will offer both the full and half distance. The new race follows the termination of the Challenge Family’s contract with YWC Sports. The race site is  at Legoland Billund Resort with the swim in Fuglsang Lake. The flat and fast bike, traversing some sections the Giro d’Italia covered in 2012, as well as the similarly speedy run route are certain to yield incredible splits. The run will finish with a lap around the horse racing track  en route to Lalandia,  Denmark’s largest water and tropical amusement park.

The Mayor of Billund, Ib Kristensen said “As Mayor of the Municipality of Billund, I am extremely pleased to welcome Challenge Family. Their values and attitudes fit our own as we are the children’s capital and a great family and tourist destination with millions of visitors who annually visit Legoland Billund Resort. We look forward to showing the many visitors our municipality with its many options.”

The  Mayor of Herning, Lars Krarup, was equally excited, “In Herning, we are proud of being selected, along with Billund, as the new triathlon centre of Jutland. We look forward to welcoming Challenge Family and to receive both the spectators and the many triathletes.”

Challenge Family CEO, Felix Walchshöfer, said, “Billund is the home of Lego, which is probably the most recognizable toy brand for families around the world. We are honoured to partner with such a prestigious destination and look forward to delivering a triathlon that will really be like no other,” he said.

Registration for Challenge Denmark will open in early May 2014. For more info: www.challenge-family.com.
