How to watch Ironman Arizona

Ironman Arizona will be livestreamed on Facebook

2016 Ironman Arizona

On Sunday, Nov. 18, the last Ironman of 2018 in North America gets underway in Tempe, Arizona. This year, a number of Canada’s elite long course triathletes will be competing in Arizona. Unfortunately, Lionel Sanders, a three-time winner of Ironman Arizona, will not be competing. Despite his absence, Jeff Symonds and Jen Annett will lead a large group of Canadian professional and age group triathletes in Tempe.

Last year, Symonds finished fifth at Ironman Arizona in 8:20:38. With last year’s top two finishers, Lionel Sanders and Brent McMahon, sitting out of the race, Symonds has the opportunity to reach the podium and be Canada’s top finisher. Earlier this year, at Ironman Canada, Symonds finished second behind McMahon.

Jen Annett has done Ironman Arizona twice in her professional career. Last year, she reached the podium in 8:59:27, the first Ironman she broke the nine-hour mark in. Just a month removed from her first professional Ironman World Championship experience in Kona, Annett will be trying to finish her season with another top result in Arizona.
