Photo by: courtesy Cube bicyclesIt’s been quite a year for Great Britain’s Lucy Charles-Barclay, and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. In a video she posted on YouTube yesterday she announced that she’ll be taking part in her second World Triathlon Championship Series event this year – WTCS Abu Dhabi. Earlier this year Charles-Barclay made an impressive debut on the WTCS circuit with a fifth-place finish at WTCS Leeds.
You can see the list of women entered in the sprint-distance event which is slated for Nov. 5, here.
The British star claimed her first world title at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in St. George, Utah in September, and appears to have an ambitious schedule in mind for the next few years including an attempt at a sub-8 hour full-distance race and possible run for the 2024 Olympics in France.
We wrote about Charles-Barclay’s impressive abilities at a variety of distances in our July issue of Triathlon Magazine Canada.

In the video we also learned about a recent swim meet that Charles-Barclay and her husband Reece participated in, where she swam four events including a 4:59 400 m individual medley and a 2:05 200 m freestyle, both of which qualified her for the British national swimming championships.
