With no live broadcast, you’ll have to see if Lionel Sanders and Tamara Jewett defend their titles on the Ironman Tracker
Sanders after sixth 70.3 win in Mont-Tremblant, Jewett looks to defend her title
Photo by: Kevin MackinnonIt’s a crazy-busy weekend of racing around the world – all eyes will be on the spectacular field set to compete in Roth (you can watch that stream below), there’s Ironman Coeur d’Alene, which will be streamed live on Ironman.com/live, Ironman 70.3 Elsinore, which will be streamed on Outside online and then, here in Canada (and to be more precise, here in Quebec), there’s the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) Montreal (you can watch that on TriathlonLive.TV) and Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant. While the 70.3 race is happening in Tremblant tomorrow, Montreal will be playing host to the thrilling mixed team relay action.
So, while it’s easy to get your fill of triathlon racing this weekend, those looking to watch the ever-popular Lionel Sanders go for a sixth Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant title, or Tamara Jewett try to defend her title, will either have to travel to Mont-Tremblant, or follow the race on the Ironman Tracker.
Deep men’s field
Sanders will face some stiff competition tomorrow, including last year’s runner up Jackson Laundry. Sanders’ training partner Trevor Foley will likely be in the mix, too, as will American Tim O’Donnell and Canadian Cody Beals.
Jewett arrives as prohibitive favourite
Thanks to her big win at Ironman 70.3 Oceanside, which she followed up with a sixth-place finish at the PTO European Open in Ibiza, then a runner-up finish despite two crashes at Ironman 70.3 Pays d’Aix, Jewett will be the one to beat in Mont-Tremblant. She’ll likely find herself chasing Rach McBride, renowned as a strong swimmer/ cyclist, while others in the field to keep an eye on include Americans Mollie Hebda, Any Cymerman and Sarah Bishop. Look for the ageless Dede Griesbauer to be in the mix, too, through the swim and bike legs.
You can see the full pro field here.
