The bike sponsorship sweepstakes continues as Paula Findlay returns to the company she worked with a decade ago when she was at the top of the ITU racing world, winning five straight ITU WTS events in 2010 and 2011. The PTO 2020 Championship champ announced on the weekend that she’s going to be racing on the Specialized Shiv Disc and training on the S-Works Tarmac. Findlay will also wear Specialized cycling shoes.

Her bikes will continue to be specced with SRAM components and Zipp wheels.

Findlay and her partner Eric Lagerstrom announced the new deal in their weekly “That Triathlon Life” vlog.

A few weeks ago Lucy Charles-Barclay announced that was leaving Specialized and would be riding on a Cube bike this year. That hardly means that Specialized is hurting for big name athletes – Flora Duffy, Javier Gomez and Vincent Luis all ride the bikes, and recently Josh Amberger moved over from Felt to join Tim Don on the company’s long-distance front.

Findlay’s recent rise on the middle-distance scene with three straight wins that included Ironman 70.3 Indian Wells La Quinta and Challenge Daytona at the end of 2019, followed by the big US$100,000 win at the PTO Championship at the end of 2020, no-doubt was attractive to Specialized. Her next race is at Challenge Miami in March.
