The massive community centre will be the site of numerous competitive and recreational events. Shannon Doram (YMCA Calgary president and CEO) told a crowd of reporters Thursday,  “When I think about collective impact and what we’re launching here, I see not only a stunning building but the potential it holds for leadership, for learning, for a sense of community, a sense of belonging and for building a better life for all Calgarians.”

The Brookfield Residential YMCA boasts a 50m competition-sized pool with 10 lanes, water park, two ice rinks, indoor track (200m) and an art gallery. The Calgary YMCA also holds a 250-seat theatre, a child care centre and child minding services for members, a medical and physiotherapy clinic.

Located at Seton at 4995 Market Street S.E., the Brookfield Residental YMCA is approximately 30K from the downtown core of Calgary and will greatly service those living in the southeast.
