Giro makes Eclipse Spherical helmet available to the masses
The fastest aero road helmet Giro has ever designed
Photo by: GiroPro cyclists have been sporting Giro’s latest aero helmet over the last year, but until today us regular folks haven’t had access to the new Eclipse Spherical helmet, the company’s fastest and coolest aero road helmet to date.
The new helmet uses Giro’s Spherical Technology powered by Mips to protect your head. the helmet’s outer EPS foam liner rotates around the inner foam liner during a crash to redirect impact forces away from the brain. Add to that 14 Wind Tunnel vents which pull air through the helmet to decrease aerodynamic drag and a sleek outer shell that reduces drag and you get a speedy, safe and cool helmet that will serve you well in both training and racing. The Roc Loc 5 Air fit system allows for a stable, comfortable fit, too.
“In our many years of testing hundreds of helmets, the new Eclipse is the fastest road helmet we’ve tested, yet we refused to compromise protection, heat management, or comfort,” says Giro’s Director of Product Development Ben Penner. “We spent countless hours in our in-house wind tunnel making it fast, but also used our unique Therminator heat-measuring head form to utilize the same airflow to keep the helmet super comfortable. In the end, we ended up with our fastest road helmet ever that cools better than most helmets lacking any aero advantages.”
The new Giro Eclipse Spherical helmet retails for $360.
