Multisport Canada (MSC), the largest Canadian-owned triathlon race series,  is pleased to announce a new partnership with SickKids Foundation at their Toronto Island Triathlon weekend. The event, which takes place on August 20 to 21, 2016, will assist the Foundation by way of athlete pledges from friends and family with the goal of raising funds for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
“The Multisport family is happy to lend our support to this effort – the work SickKids does makes such an impact on thousands of children and families and we know our athletes will help to make sure this continues,” said John Salt, MSC president.
Athletes wishing to find out more should go to multisportcanada.com/torontoisland. MSC encourages athletes to create their online fundraising page today.  If you raise $150 or more for SickKids, you will receive an official  piece of SickKids apparel.
“We rely on the generous support of the community and are grateful to Multisport Canada for this initiative,” says Jade De Ciccio, Associate, Events, SickKids Foundation. “Their support, and the support of participating athletes, will help SickKids continue to provide world-class research, learning and care to our patients and their families.”
The Toronto Island Triathlon weekend offers races for all levels – Saturday has a Give-it -a-Tri, either individually or as a relay and on Sunday the Sprint Duathlon and Triathlon will take place, again with an option to participate on your own or with a relay team. Both races have a registration cap and are expected to sell out so athletes should register soon.
Registration and information for those interested in volunteering at the event can be found at www.multisportcanada.com.
