Ironman Mont-Tremblant to introduce relays

Beloved Canadian race offers new format for athletes to participate

For the very first time, Subaru Ironman Mont-Tremblant will offer relay team registration for the full distance triathlon which will be held on Sunday August 19. The team – of two or three athletes – will have to swim 3.8 km, cycle for 180 km and run a distance of 42.2 km, in a maximum time frame of 17 hours. Registration for the relay opens on Tuesday March 14 at noon (EST).

“We wanted to find an original way to widen access to this high-performance sport, which can sometimes seem inaccessible for certain athletes. With this relay team formula, they will be able to live a unique experience and we are proud that Mont-Tremblant is the only destination on the 2018 Ironman circuit to offer this option. To close the event, participating teams will be invited to celebrate the occasion at what has been described by the Athlete’s Choice Award as the best post-race party! One more reason to compete surrounded by your friends!”, says Dominique Piché, producer and race director, Ironman Mont-Tremblant.

There is still room left in the individual Ironman Mont-Tremblant race as well.
