Daniel Clarke: Race day at Ironman Mont-Tremblant

Sunday was race day at Ironman Mont Tremblant. It was a day that went so well, until it didn’t. I had a good swim, worked my way up to 4th with the 3rd fastest bike split, and was holding onto 4th until things unravelled around 30k into my run. I was ultimately stopped and checked by the on course medics, and was allowed to finish provided I walked it in. I had high hopes of this race, so the result was disappointing, but I will learn from this to be better next time. I want to say thanks to the other athletes that ran by me when I was struggling and asked if I was alright, and also to the on course medical who kept an eye on me.
