Pulling out all the stops at Tri Battle Royale – banked turnarounds!

First "Race Week Video" shows Sanders' preparation for the upcoming race in Germany

Jan Frodeno and Lionel Sanders aren’t playing around when it comes to putting everything in place to be able to go fast at the Zwift Tri Battle Royale on Sunday. Organizers have gone so far as to create banked turnarounds for the event to ensure that the two men won’t have to slow down too much during the bike.

Today Sanders posted the first of his “Race Week” videos for the event in which we get to see one of his last prep workouts before the big race – a 100 mile (160 km) bike followed by an hour-long run 10 days before the upcoming race in Allgau, Germany.

The Zwift Tri Battle Royale will be a full-distance race (3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42.2 km run) in Allgau, Germany this Sunday, July 18. The day begins with a four-lap swim in Grossen Alpsee Lake, followed by a five-loop bike course on a closed highway, followed by a four-loop marathon. Based on the efforts organizers are making to ensure the course is super quick, if conditions are good one would expect that the two will be aiming to beat Frodeno’s full-distance world-best time of 7:35:39 set at Challenge Roth in 2016.
