The 23-year-old German Mika Noodt missed the memo, though, stealing the show with a brilliant win that saw him at, or near, the front for the entire day.

The German finished fourth at last year’s Ironman 70.3 World Championship in St. George, Utah, but has spent much of the year injured. Noodt led the men out of the water in 20:55, with Laundry 45 seconds down in third and Sanders just over two minutes behind in 13th.
Laundry would join the German at the front on the bike and the pair arrived at T2 3:46 up on last week’s third-place finisher, Trevor Foley, with Sanders at 3:51 back of the two leaders. Noodt would quickly run clear of Laundry, and would cap his day off with a 1:12:33 half-marathon to easily take the win in 3:37:33. Laundry would take second in 3:39:39, with Sanders running a second slower than the German to round out the podium in 3:41:23. Foley would take fourth in 3:43:50.
