Following his first professional Ironman win in Austria, 23-year-old Daniel Bækkegård celebrated in style

Breaking the tape at the end of a long day of racing is one of the most exhilarating feelings for age-group and professional athletes, especially after an Ironman – a 3.8K swim, 180K bike and 42.2K run. On July 7th, Daniel Bækkegård of Denmark won Ironman Austria in a time of 8:14:26 and celebrated in style.

The 23-year-old has been on cloud nine of late. On June 29th, Bækkegård won his first professional triathlon at Ironman 70.3 Lathi (3:45:38) in Finland. Then, just a week later, the Danish triathlete managed to win Ironman Austria in a time of 8:14:26.
