Triathlon Ontario launches Canada’s premiere online coaching courses in conjunction with Dr. Greg Wells. If you want to become a coach or are interested in updating your coaching skills, this is powerful new resource. Wells, a scientist, physiologist, and former  Director of Sport Science at the Canadian Sport Centre, became a widely popular expert in the field during his Gemini-Award winning “Superbodies” segments for Canada’s Olympic TV broadcast. Wells was also the on-camera sport science and sport medicine analyst for the CTV Broadcast Consortium during the 2010 Vancouver and London 2012 Olympic Games 2010 Vancouver and London 2012 Olympic Games.

The online continuing education courses will be comprised of a number of subjects including Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition, Transitions and Sport Specific Technique (Swim, Bike and Run) and consist of 6 to 10 hours of content divided into 45 minute segments. Coaches will have access to the instructional videos and be required to complete online quizzes. Upon successful completion of the entire course, coaches will receive a certificate of completion from Triathlon Ontario which they can use to market to their skill sets.

The program launches with a unit on Exercise Physiology for triathletes,  containing 10 lectures. Coaches must first complete the NCCP Community Level Course in order to register for the Continuing Education courses.

In addition to Dr. Wells, experts in each subject matter will be selected to deliver the content to students/coaches. The next topic, Swim Technique is currently under construction.
