Naeth Wins Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake

Despite hot conditions, Angela Naeth scored her third win of the season and successfully defended her title  at Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake in Lubbock, Texas this morning.  Her standout performance was consistent across all disciplines, but her fastest bike split of the day (2:24) added to a strong swim and run to pull it all together in a time of 4:27:14. Naeth was 13th overall. American Margaret Shapiro was second in 4:28:32 and Lauren Barnett rounded out the podium in 4:29:58.

On the men’s side there was s tight race with Australian Tim Reed inching out Jordan Rapp in a winning time of 3:59: 58 just 29 seconds ahead of a fast charging Rapp who rode an incredible 2:10. Despite winning in grand style in Mont-Tremblant last weekend, American Jesse Thomas was third in  4:02:54.
