Last day to buy Pan Am Games tickets

-By Scott Leitch

Monday night marks the last day to buy tickets to the upcoming panam for the next six weeks, with ticket resales being halted as of 9 p.m. until mid-April.

So far there have been approximately 300,000 tickets sold for the Games. There are about 1.2 million available in total during the multi-sport Games, which will be the largest sporting event ever held in Canada.

Even with amid seemingly low ticket sales, some of the main attractions are already sold out, including the opening ceremonies and the men’s baseball gold medal game. There are still many tickets available for the athletics events. Most of the marathon will be free to watch, though seats are being sold at the finish.

The city’s mayor, John Tory, has been outspoken on rallying citizens to buy tickets and go see events. Games organizers expect ticket sales to increase as the events near and teams for are solidified.

Those interested in buying tickets before the window closes until mid-April can do so on the event website.
