Japanese “monkey man” breaks 100m world record running on all fours

Japan’s Kenichi Ito, known as “the monkey man,” ran a world record for the 100m on all fours on Nov. 12, breaking his previous lifetime best.

Ito broke the record at Komazawa Olympic Park Athletic Field in Tokyo covering the distance in 15.71 seconds. The Guinness Book of World Records was at the stadium to witness the man who has perfected the art of moving in a monkey-like manner.

Ito had set the record five previous times but another Japanese man, Katsumi Tamakoshi, was the record holder before Ito topped his time.
