ITU opens bids for a Multisport World Cup Series in 2020

On May 24th, the International Triathlon Union (ITU) released an article on their homepage launching the bid conditions for the ITU Multisport World Cup 2019-2020. After the proven success of the Multisport World Championships, which just finished its third edition in Pontevedra, the ITU Multisport World Cup was created to develop opportunities for age group and elite athletes to participate in events not just limited to the standard triathlon.

Conceived as a competition perfect to provide a well-organized event in all triathlon-related multisport disciplines, the Multisport World Cups will include two of the following events: Long Distance, Duathlon, Cross Triathlon, Cross Duathlon and Aquathlon.

At the moment, host cities and national sport federations are encouraged to develop proposals and be submitted before July 15, 2019. Winning candidatures will be announced during the ITU Executive Board meeting in Lausanne, on August 27, 2019.
