Ironman ships supplies to Maui after devastating wildfires

Race organization offers supplies and other donations to those in need on Maui

The world has been stunned to see the tragic events in Maui over the last week. The devastation from the wildfires has struck a chord for all of us, but especially to the Ironman family, who have always had a connection to Hawaii.

Ironman put out a message last weekend to express support for those who have been affected by the events in Maui. In addition to outlining some of the measures the company has been putting in place to try and help, Ironman also provided some information on how we can provide kōkua (support) to those in need.

Here’s the statement:

Like so many across the world, we have been shocked and saddened to see the level of devastation caused by the wildfires in Maui and impacting our Hawai`i `ohana. Families have felt significant loss and despair, many left without homes, their businesses, and loved ones. Hawai`i, its culture, and people are intertwined in our foundation and continue to be instrumental in IRONMAN. With members of our staff, volunteers, friends, and family throughout Hawai`i, some of whom have been impacted directly, we extend our aloha and care to all of those who are facing the unimaginable.

Our team in Kona has worked diligently at our warehouse pulling together supplies – clothing, bags, energy bars, toilet paper, and any other items of use to load onto a barge carrying donations to Maui.We thank our athletes, partners, and the greater IRONMAN `ohana who have reached out to share their concern and support, and appreciate those who have already found ways to provide kōkua (support) for those in Hawai`i.

How you can kōkua:
