After two years of being held virtually, USA Triathlon’s Endurance Exchange will be held in person from Jan. 23 to 26, 2023 in Austin, Texas. Originally organized by Triathlon Business International, the conference continues to attract those who make their living through the sport, but also offers lots of interesting options for all levels of multisport enthusiasts with athlete-focussed sessions for all skill and experience levels. The virtual event held in 2022 attracted 1,000 attendees.

While the event is hosted by USA Triathlon, it has traditionally attracted a number of Canadian and other international triathlon stakeholders, providing an excellent opportunity to share best practices, network and collaborate. Canadian Lisa Bentley was the keynote speaker at last year’s event.

Registration for the 2023 event is now open at enduranceexchange.com.

With more than 30 live sessions presented by the industry’s top coaches, race directors and industry professionals, Endurance Exchange will feature a mix of hands-on, experiential learning workshops and lecture experiences to educate athletes, coaches, race directors and more members of the multisport community. Live session topics include: Defining Threshold Modalities for Cycling, Digital Marketing, Sustainability Best Practices, Underwater Video Analysis and a State of the Sport report. Each day of the conference begins with a roundtable breakfast.

In keeping with the desire to make the event attractive to more than just those who work in the industry, USA Triathlon plans to offer a number of workshops designed to help athletes achieve their goals.

“Pack clothes you can move in,” said Earl Walton, USA Triathlon Director of Education. “This year will feature hands-on, practical experiences and workshops where you will learn by doing. We want you to roll up your sleeves and get elbow to elbow with folks from across our sport who want 2023 to be a breakout year for multisport. It has been incredible to see the enthusiasm of the experts stepping forward to lead this conference. Whether it’s learning the proper ‘cues’ to drive you to your athletic goals or workshopping your next steps as a small business you will leave this conference energized for the season ahead.”

Race Directors Summit

January 24 will feature a day dedicated exclusively for race directors, which will allow race directors to “network and learn via expert-led work sessions — including medical, safety and business planning … Race director-specific content includes: Pricing and Economics, Maximizing Local Partners and Day in the Life: Crisis Management,” according to USA Triathlon

Expo

The event will take place at the Austin Convention Center and will feature an expo “showcasing the new products, innovations and brands in the endurance sports community.”
