Clash Endurance has nailed down another major event alongside its Miami race – the organization is working with USA Triathlon to put on the 2024 Americas Triathlon Championship Event on March 7 and 8. Clash events are based at various Nascar race tracks around the country – the Miami event is held at Homestead Miami Speedway. The race will have Elite, Junior and Para categories, and offer valuable qualifying points for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics. (The race will serve as the final qualifier for para-triathlon for Paris.)

The race will serve as an opener to the regular Clash Miami events which will include a sprint-distance event, kids races and the special “Miami” distance race that includes a 1.6 km (1 mile) swim, a 48 km (30 mile) bike and a 12.8 km (8 mile) run.

Ready to Clash? The story behind the new multisport series and its speedway thrills

“It is a tremendous honor for Clash Endurance and USA Triathlon to be hosting this monumental event in Miami,” says Clash’s chief operating officer Andre Lapar. “This offers U.S. elite athletes a rare chance to compete, and hopefully win in their home country. We also expect the multicultural hub of Miami to provide a roaring crowd for all Latin athletes on their road to the Paris 2024 Olympics.”

With two slots still available for both the men’s and women’s American Olympic team, the race could serve as an important stop for valuable qualifying points for team selection, although that same weekend sees the season opener of the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) in Abu Dhabi.

“USA Triathlon appreciates the work by Clash Endurance and World Triathlon to bring the 2024 Americas Triathlon Championships to Miami,” says Victoria Brumfield, USA Triathlon CEO. “This event will offer valuable draft-legal racing experience and World Triathlon Rankings points opportunities for many elite athletes who have their eyes set on Paris 2024 and LA 2028. This is an amazing opportunity for U.S. elite athletes to race here on home soil at an excellent triathlon venue. Multisport is thriving in the Miami community and I encourage multisport fans in the area to come cheer and support these elite up-and-coming athletes race in the exciting and fun draft-legal format.”
