Canadian Tamara Jewett has surged to the highest levels of the sport over the last few years – not just because of her prodigious run skills, but also because of her dramatically improved swimming and biking. As a former member of Canada’s national cross country and track teams, it comes as no surprise that Jewett would quickly become one of the best runners in the sport, routinely racking up 73- and 74-minute half-marathon splits at 70.3 races.

The improvement in her swim and bike legs was most apparent in April, 2023, when Jewett took what is arguably the biggest win of her career at Ironman 70.3 Oceanside. Jewett finished the swim with the chase pack that included the likes of Paula Findlay, Chelsea Sodaro and Kat Matthews. She then rode with that group, too, signaling that she was no longer an athlete only to be feared on the final leg of the race.

The win in Oceanside was symbolic in many ways – she had left her job at a prestigious law firm (Torys LLP) at the end of 2022 to focus exclusively on triathlon, and the win in Oceanside set the stage for a great year. She would go on to win Ironman 70.3 Michigan, and would take runner-up finishes at Ironman 70.3 Pays d’Aix,  Ironman 70.3 Augusta and Ironman 70.3 Indian Wells.

As a sign of the year’s success, Argon 18 announced that it had signed Jewett to ride the company’s bikes in December.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tamara Jewett to the Argon 18 athlete roster,” the company said in an Instagram post. “This powerhouse athlete turned pro triathlete in 2019 and has been breaking barriers ever since.”

We caught up with Jewett earlier today as she prepares for this weekend’s T100 Miami race to check out her new ride.

Sitting 14th in the PTO World Ranking, Jewett has signed with the T100 Triathlon World Tour for 2024.
She’ll be riding Argon18s flagship triathlon bike, the E-119 Tri+ Disc.
Her bike is armed with a 4iiii power meter.
Speedshop extensions enhance the aero cockpit.
Jewett rides a Sor disc wheel.
And an Ellevo front wheel.
Jewett wears Ekoi custom sunglasses and an Ekoi aero road helmet – she’ll be testing the company’s TT helmets this spring, too.
