On launches carbon plate shoe – check out the Cloudboom

Making a bang with a new shoe launch has become a challenge during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, but Swiss-based On has certainly come up with an interesting way to get us to pay attention to its new carbon-plate shoe, the Cloudboom. Triathletes and runners in Quebec City and Montreal will get home delivery of phone and on-line orders of the new shoe thanks to ambassadors wearing the new speedster. (The stores involved are Boutique Courir, La Boutique Du Lac and Maison de la Course.)

The rest of the country might not get doorstep delivery, but many will still pay attention to the new launch because On is also working with Danish audio giant Bang & Olufsen – today’s new shoe also coincides with the release of a limited edition of the company’s “first true wireless sports earphones: Beoplay E8 Sport On Edition.”

The Cloudboom features a “carbon-fibre infused Speedboard” and twin layers of CloudTec cushioning (one above and one below the Speedboard) that provides a minimalist silhouette but lots of performance and protection. There’s a single layer of engineered mesh that provides lots of breathability and has reinforced sections to ensure you have lots of support, while a new grip-rubber sole gives the shoe lots of traction. The new shoe weighs in at just 225 g, with a heel-toe drop of 9 mm, which should make it easy to roll onto your toes quickly and easily for fast turnover.

Bang & Olufsen’s wireless and waterproof Beoplay E8 Sport On Edition earphones come with a compact anodized aluminum wireless charging case. There are a range of adjustable silicone tips included to ensure a comfortable fit and excellent sound experience. You’ll get up to seven hours of listening time, with up to 30 hours of charging time available through the charging case. The earphones feature ridged grips so its easy to make adjustments even when your fingers are wet and sweaty.
