One of the most popular shoes in the sport, the Asics Noosa Tri 15 is the latest iteration of a shoe that offers triathletes both a speedy race-day option, while still providing enough support and cushioning for training. If you’re looking for something for the triathlete in your life to brighten up the holiday season, you won’t go wrong with a pair of these shoes.

The Noosa Tri has always been easy to pick out thanks to its signature bright colour pop, but, as Asics’ Sam Hopper points out in the video below, “the Guidesole Technology is pretty forgiving and the lower drop allows you to take advantage of the energy-saving design.”

The Noosa Tri 15 doesn’t include any carbon-plate technology, but is still a speedy shoe thanks to the midsole design that allows you to easily roll onto your toes for a snappy toe off. While the shoe is extremely light (196 g for the women’s, 227 g for the men’s), there’s lots of Flytefoam cushioning that provides excellent impact absorption. (This year’s version gets an additional 1 mm of foam, too.) That means your legs won’t get beaten up if you choose the Noosa Tri 15 for your next race, or while training for it. The durable outsole ensures you’ll get lots of miles on this shoe for both training and racing.

That stylish-looking upper isn’t all looks – the engineered mesh ensures there’s lots of air flow for even the warmest days, and its extremely comfortable, making skipping socks for shorter races a viable option. Adding to the “triathlon” flare of the shoe is the specially designed tongue tab that will help you fly through transition, too.

While we were thrilled to check the Noosa Tri out at the 40th anniversary of the prestigious triathlon, you won’t have to travel that far to get a pair. You’ll find them for CDN$180 / US$130 on the company’s website.
