XTERRA Southeast Championship Preview

Sunday June 13 in Pelham, Alabama.

On Sunday, professionals and age groupers will take to the 1.5 km swim (two laps in Double Oak Lake), 30 km single loop mountain bike, and 10 km trail run course (featuring 4 big climbs) at Oak Mountain State Park in Shelby County – the largest state park in Alabama.

“This is definitely my favorite bike course of all the races,” said Conrad Stoltz at the pre-race press conference, winner of the last three races here. “This is the ultimate bike course, there’s a lot of adrenaline on this trail.”

“This is all middle and big ring riding on fast swooping trails, and you need to have good skills to do well here,” said Canadian XTERRA Legend Melanie McQuaid.

The race will have a $10 500 prize purse for the professionals, offer points for the XTERRA America Tour, and 41 qualification spots for the XTERRA World Championships in Maui.
