In Angra dos Reis, Costa Rica’s Rom Akerson claims his first XTERRA Championship victory
To claim his first XTERRA Championship victory, Costa Rica’s Rom Akerson (2:21:26) narrowly defeated Victoria’s Mike Vine (2:22:16) to win the XTERRA Brazil Championship in Angra dos Reis. Last year’s champion, Alexandre Manzan (of Brazil), finished third. Maria Soledad Omar of Argentina won the women’s race (3:04:59) ahead of defending champion Carla Prada (3:06:41) of Brazil. Canada’s Ann Yew was fourth (3:06:47).
