Rev3 goes to Wisconsin

Wisonsin Dells - August 2012

Revolution3 Triathlon is excited to announce a brand new race and brand new race location for 2012!  The month of August, 2012, Revolution3 will hold Olympic and Half Distance races at Wisconsin Dells, the waterpark capital of the world!  Pro and age group athletes are invited to compete in both distances for cash prizes.

The Olympic distance consists of a .93 mile swim, 24.86 mile bike and 6.2 mile run and the Half Rev race is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run.  The swim portion of the race will take place in picturesque Lake Delton, accessing the lake at the Tommy Bartlett Ski Show, featuring stadium seating that gives spectators a unique view of the swim leg of the race, unlike any other triathlon event.   The bike course follows the shore of Lake Delton as it heads out to rural Wisconsin, offering challenging terrain while providing athletes a prime view of the beautiful countryside.  The run course follows the natural inclines of Wisconsin Dells Parkway past water parks and roller coasters.  The course passes through downtown Wisconsin Dells and into the surrounding community providing athletes a unique route that can’t be repeated anywhere else.

“We are excited that REVOLUTION3 selected Wisconsin Dells as a 2012 race location,” said Alison L. Huber of the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau, Inc. “Not only will the participants have an opportunity to compete in an outstanding and challenging event, but they are certain to enjoy all of the area’s many leisure activities and beautiful scenery as well.”

Wisconsin Dells has been a family institution for 150 years.  Wisconsin Dells is chiefly known for its waterparks, which is the largest concentration of waterparks, indoor and outdoor, in the world.  Rain or shine, the whole family can enjoy these beautiful water attractions year round.  In addition to the waterparks, the Dells also features a slew of nightlife and dining options, shopping, rides and even several petting zoos.  All ages will find something to delight and entice at Wisconsin Dells.

“Wisconsin Dells is an amazing location and we’re so excited to launch a new event there,” said Charlie Patten, President of Revolution3.  “The atmosphere and attractions the Dells offers fits perfectly with Rev3’s focus on producing unique events that appeal to athletes and families alike.”

Revolution3 believes that the triathlon race experience should provide a quality experience the whole family, and tailors its races to ensure a superior race day event.  Rev3 races are weekend-long events, often featuring concerts or outdoor movies and athlete and family only admission to the theme park prior to the race.  Revolution3 has also gained a reputation for attracting many of the top pros in the sport, and often offers spectators the opportunity to see them up close and on the course.

Revolution3 will release more information about these races as they draw closer.  Visit Rev3Tri.com to learn more about Revolution3 and to see photos and videos from other events.  For more information on Wisconsin Dells, visit their site at Wisdells.com.  Since its inception, Revolution3 Triathlon has grown to include both national and international races, Olympic, 70.3 and 140.6 distances and encourages family, friends and spectators to experience the race along with the athletes who are competing.
