The Ironman 70.3 and Ironman World Champion has Basal Cell Carcinoma.

Leanda Cave, the reigning Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Champion revealed hat she has skin cancer.

On her Twitter and Facebook page, she made the following statements:

“I was just diagnosed with a skin cancer this morning. Make sure you use sun screen and wear a hat people.”

“The skin cancer I have is not serious or life threatening at all. It’s called a Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) and is 100% curable. It is a direct result of too much sun exposure. I just want to make people aware of the damage the sun can do” ”
