Janus and Ironman end sponsorship

Charity Challenge to end after Ironman Arizona.

After a ten year association with Ironman races in North America, Janus’ sponsorship will not continue into 2011.

The Janus Charity Challenge program helped Ironman athletes utilize their racing to raise over 47 million dollars for charities over the past decade, and will come to an end after Ironman Arizona (November 21, 2010).

According to Janus, they were not able to structure an ongoing partnership with Ironman that would be mutually beneficial to both organizations. However, they plan on continuing the program in some other way. This will be announced in the near future on their Janus Charity Challenge Website.

It is likely that Ironman will continue to offer athletes an opportunity to raise funds for their selected charity but with WTC’s own charitable program that would include all of its races.
