Ironman Western Australia Busselton Preview

Vernay back to defend on Sunday.

New Caledonia’s Patrick Vernay returns to Busselton on Sunday to defend his Ironman Western Australia title. He will face stiff competition from Scott Neyedli (second last year), Jason Shortis (a two time winner at Busselton), Luke Bell, and Pete Jacobs (the fastest runner from the Ironman World Championships – 2:41:05).

New Zealand’s Gina Ferguson, the Ironman Wisconsin Champion, will not be back to defend thus making Australia’s Rebekah Keat the women’s favourite. Keat is a two-time Ironman Australia Champion and a four-time Irondistance champion.

Ironman.com will have live coverage.
