Ironman Kalmar goes Saturday

Sweden hosts the inaugural race.

Ironman Sweden/Kalmar, the first Ironman race to take place in Scandinavia, goes this Saturday August 18.

Athletes will swim two loops in the in Kalmar Strait, ride two fast and flat loops on Öland (106 km) and on the mainland north of Kalmar (74 km), and run three loops in downtown Kalmar and the surrounding parks and residential areas, finishing in the big square next to a cathedral from the 1600s.
