Ironman 70.3 Miami Preview
Inaugural race goes Saturday.
The inaugural Ironman 70.3 Miami goes this Saturday at Bayfront Park in Miami, Florida.
The 6:52 am (EST) start will have athletes begin with a 1.2 miles (1.9 km) swim in the protected waters of Miami Florida. Once onto the bike, they will ride a 56-mile (90 km) bike ride along the quiet, scenic communities of Miami, passing great architecture work consisting of classic and modern mansions as well as a mini tour of the Mediterranean Style City of Coral Gables. The final two loop 13.1 mile (21 km) run will have athletes travelling through the scenic Port of Miami and the site of many of the world’s largest cruise ships.
Along with the professionals (the start list is below), former cycling star Laurent Jalabert, is another notable figure that will compete in the race on Saturday. Canadian’s Angela Naeth,
Christine Fletcher, and Tenille Hoogland are also in the start list.
