Harju ninth in Louisville

The Ukraine’s Victor Zyemtsev (8:25:27) used a phenomenal 2:43 marathon run to catch Australia’s Luke McKenzie (8:26:01) to win the Ford Ironman Louisville title by a close 34-second margin. South Africa’s Raynard Tissink was third (8:39:09) and Quebec’s Dave Harju was ninth in 9:02:33. Germany’s Nina Kraft (9:20:21) won her title in much the same way, coming from behind on the run to pass Denmark’s Lisbeth Kristensen (9:23:57) with 13 km to go. American Kim Loeffler finished third. Quebec’s Marie Danais was the top Canadian female (10:29:06).
