Csoke and Bevilaqua win Ironman Korea

Brown and Lawn win 70.3 Korea.

Hungary’s Balazs Csoke was first out of the water (47:06), and he remained in front by biking 4:39:14, and running 3:17:48 to convincingly win Ironman Korea today in 8:48:21. Andreas Venhorst finished second (8:58:46), and Bevan McKinnon got third (9:03:50).

Australia’s Kate Bevilaqua also won by a large margin in the heat and humidity thanks to a 5:04:49 bike ride and a 3:35:28 marathon. She finished in 9:39:44 to get her second Ironman win (other at Ironman Western Australia 2010), followed by Maki Nishiuchi (9:56:28), and Hillary Biscay (10:12:20).

Travelling to the race together, a pair of Kiwis won the 70.3 race. Cameron Brown dominated the men’s race with a 1:20:48 half marathon to win in 4:03:58, while Joanna Lawn basically raced herself (small pro field) to win in 4:38:54.
