Aussies win Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens

Canadians Trevor Wurtele and Tenille Hoogland take third.

Australian Chris Legh chased down Tim O’Donnell (posted best splits in the swim – 22:52, and bike – 2:18:59) with the top run of the day (1:14:26) to win Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens in 4:01:29. Kelowna’s Trevor Wurtele put together a strong bike/run combination to take third overall (4:02:29).

Fellow Aussie Mirinda Carfrae put in a solid ride (2:37:43), and followed it up with the top run of 1:19:31 to put a stranglehold on first place (4:26:38). Canadian age grouper Sheila Croft used the top ride (2:33:53) to finish second (4:33:13), and Courtenay’s Tenille Hoogland led all women after the swim (24:54), and ended up in third (4:38:28) and second among professional women.
