The Toronto Triathlon Festival (TTF) will host the Triathlon Canada Age Group Standard Distance Triathlon National Championships in 2022 and the Age Group Sprint Distance Triathlon National Championships on July 24, 2023.

This year’s standard distance race will also offer three spots per age group per gender for the 2023 World Triathlon Standard Distance Age Group World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain. The draft legal Sprint Distance Triathlon and the non-draft legal Sprint Distance Triathlon will each offer one spot per age group per gender for the 2023 Age Group Sprint Distance Triathlon World Championships in Hamburg, Germany.

The event will also serve as Triathlon Ontario’s Provincial Age Group Sprint and Standard Distance Triathlon – both draft legal and non-draft legal.

The TTF will also be part of the Ontario Cup Series, hosting junior and elite/ U23 Cup Series races.

Set near the country’s largest city’s downtown, the race is based at Ontario Place and features a swim in Lake Ontario before athletes head out along the closed Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway, two of Canada’s busiest highways. The day finishes with a run along the pathways next to Lake Ontario.

Triathlon Ontario Draft Legal Provincials

While the TTF will serve as an age group provincial draft-legal championship, Triathlon Ontario will still host its own Draft Legal Provincials on Sept. 3, 2022 at the Welland International Flatware Centre. That event will host U15, junior and elite/ U23 provincial championships, along with the Mixed Team Relay Club Championships and the Super Sprint Provincial Championships, which will also be a world championship qualifier.
