Mislawchuk joins high-powered group of Olympians sponsored by Cadex

Cadex, Giant’s high-end component brand, has been a mainstay with many World Tour teams over the years, but now the company appears to be making a big push on the triathlon front. The company just announced that it has signed a number of potential Olympians including Canada’s Tyler Mislawchuk. Mislawchuk (pictured above winning the Tokyo Test Event in 2019), currently sits fifth in the World Triathlon rankings and appears on track to compete in his second Olympics this summer.

Highlighting today’s announcement was Norway’s Kristian Blummenfelt, the winner of the 2019 World Triathlon Grand Final in Lausanne and the world’s fastest 70.3 racer thanks to his 3:25:21 world best at the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship in Bahrain. He’s also involved in the Pho3nix Sub7 project slated for next year where he’ll join Alistair Brownlee in the pursuit of a sub-7 hour full-distance race.

American Taylor Spivey sits in third place in the World Triathlon and Olympic rankings right now, making her another strong contender for Tokyo. Other athletes who will be using Cadex wheels and tires during their Olympic qualifying run starting in May include Great Britain’s Beth Potter, a former national team runner who sits in fifth in the World Triathlon rankings, and American Tamara Gorman who sits at 20th in the World Rankings.

Road and Aero wheels

The Cadex road wheels use a hookless rim design and carbon spokes to reduce weight. They are available with 42 (588 g) and 65 mm (721 g) rims, and are also available for either tubeless or tubular tires. The Aero wheels feature a rear-disc wheels and a four-spoke front carbon-composite wheels with low-friction hubs that help reduce rolling resistance. Gustav Iden (NOR) used the Cadex aero wheels during his big win at the PTO 2020 Championship at Challenge Daytona last year.
