Ironman 70.3 Muskoka Preview

Canadians in the hunt for the podium on Sunday.

Nearly half of the professional field assembled for this Sunday’s fifth edition of Ironman 70.3 Muskoka is Canadian. And the home crowd would surely love to see them top the podium in both the men’s and women’s races.

After placing sixth twice, Caledon’s Sean Bechtel finished second last year and leads the Canadian charge along with Dave Harju, Martin Lamomontagne Lacasse, Mark Linesman, Tyler Lord, Andrew Russell, and Josh Seifarth.

They will face a strong challenge from some internationally known athletes such as Chris Legh, Tom Lowe, Mike Caiazzo, Luke Bell, and Courtney Ogden to name a few.

The Canadian women will be well represented by strong swim-bikers Tenille Hoogland and Ayesha Rollinson, along with Annie Gervais, Marie Danais, Christine Fletcher, Jenny Fletcher, Miranda Tomenson-Bharadwaj, Cindy Lewis, and Chantell Widney. The biggest challengers to the Canadian’s topping the podium will be Rachel Joyce, Michelle Vesterby, and Kelly Fillnow.

Ironman.com will have athlete tracking.
