Armstrong to race at Ironman 70.3 St. Croix

Lance adds the May 6th race to his schedule.

Ironman.com reports that Lance Armstrong will race Ironman 70.3 St. Croix on Sunday May 6.

Armstrong last raced there in 1989 when the race consisted of a 3 km swim, 95 km bike and a 20 km run.

“It has been almost 25 years but I’m excited to announce my return to St. Croix for the Ironman St. Croix 70.3. Beauty and the Beast,” said Armstrong on Twitter.

Ironman 70.3 St. Croix will is one of the few 70.3 races that offers age groupers both Ironman Hawaii Qualifying spots (30), and Ironman 70.3 World Championship spots (30).
