Challenge Family announced today that Challenge Bahrain be the world’s first half distance night triathlon. This year’s race will take place on November 20, 2015. The swim will start during sun set while the ride and run will take place in the dark on well-lit courses.

The 2014 race took place in December and was a sold out race. The announcement comes just after Ironman announced they will be launching Ironman 70.3 Bahrain and Dubai next year. The Middle East is fast-becoming a hub of triathlon. The recently unveiled and prestigious Bahrain Endurance 13 elite team, which features Olympians and world champions including Canada’s Brent McMahon is part of the rising profile of triathlon in the Middle East.

Challenge Bahrain 2015 will also be the grand final of the Nasser Bin Hamad Triple Crown, which will see the pros compete to become ‘triathlon’s first instant millionaires.’

The fast flat course and large prize purse are sure to attract the best in the sport. Over 1,000 age group athletes will also take part. Entries to Challenge Bahrain will open on Thursday June 11 at an early bird special of US $280 for individual athletes.
