Strava and Apple Fitness+ team up in hopes of motivating more athletes in 2025
The two training apps can now sync up, and it's free to test it out for yourself
Photo by: StravaStrava and Apple have launched a collaboration that the two companies hope will inspire more people to get active and fit in 2025. Athletes who use both Strava and Apple Fitness+ can now sync their workouts between the two apps. You can share every workout you complete on Apple Fitness+ with your Strava followers from here on out, and the best part is that Apple is offering Strava subscribers a three-month free trial.

Apple Fitness+
If you’re not familiar with Apple Fitness+, it is a great virtual training ground. Launched in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdowns, Fitness+ came at the perfect time. People couldn’t go to the gym, but Apple brought the gym, the trainers, and the classes to their living rooms.
Users can work out anywhere from five to 45 minutes doing a number of exercise plans. From HIIT workouts to yoga sessions, treadmill runs and weight training, there is so much to choose from on Fitness+. You can also pick the trainer you want (you might find that one or two in particular suit your workout style) and filter the workouts by music playlist.
Apple is constantly updating its workout library, adding new trainers to the mix, new types of workouts (for example, they have added kickboxing since the app’s launch in 2020), and so much more. Now, the latest update is the Strava collaboration.

Teaming up
Before Apple Fitness+ became compatible with Strava, your workouts had to live on the Apple Fitness app and nowhere else. For triathletes, this could have been a tad annoying, as we all love to have our full training catalogue in one place. That’s now possible thanks to the new features shared between the two apps.
After you complete a Fitness+ workout, you will be able to upload it to Strava, showing not only the exercise you completed, but what music genre you listened to, who you worked out with, and more. Officials from both companies have said they believe this integration will get people excited to train and motivate others to join in.
“January marks an important moment for Strava users as they look to stay motivated, build consistency, and get started on their goals in the New Year,” Zipporah Allen, Strava’s chief business officer, said. “Strava and Apple share a commitment to supporting our joint users on their active journeys. We are excited to be working together to bring a new Fitness+ integration and a special offer to Strava subscribers to meet their fitness milestones in 2025 and beyond.”
