On Thursday, Apple announced a new series of updates to its Fitness+ subscription service on Jan. 9 to help users get on track with their New Year’s resolutions. Fitness+ continues to build the most in-depth and inclusive fitness program on the planet with new kickboxing and sleep meditation classes designed for all levels.

Apple Fitness+ kickboxing is a full-body cardio workout with multiple routines and workout lengths of 10, 20, or 30 minutes (no equipment required).

For runners and triathletes, this workout will go a long way toward improving your strength, balance and confidence, not to mention it can teach you how to kick @$%, too. Users can expect a full-body workout that engages every muscle group, with a strong focus on core.

A typical kickboxing class incorporates situps, pushups, planks, running and skipping. These classes will enable you to support your body while running and give you that extra strength to push when you need it.

Sleep-themed meditation will also be added to the meditation app in the update, joining nine other themes in the robust Fitness+ library. New sleep meditation classes will be added weekly, and each practice can be done as part of a wind-down routine or while you are drifting off. The sleep meditations consist of four 20-minute sessions that all conclude with five minutes of relaxing music.

A familiar face in the Toronto fitness community will be joining the Fitness+ trainer team. Jenn Lau of Toronto’s Fit Squad will be coaching strength classes on Apple Fitness+ in 2023. She is a passionate teacher, who is all about inclusivity, and helping people stay active in a playful, muscle-building manner.
