These are great listens for long runs, rides, and other training sessions

As triathletes, we’re always looking for something to keep us entertained on long rides, runs, gym sessions, and (if you have the tech for it) even swims. Maybe you’re a music person, but sometimes that can get old and you might want to switch things up. Podcasts are a great way to keep you occupied while working out, and if you pick the right one, it can also help motivate you as you train. Here are a few podcasts that triathletes everywhere will love. They’re not necessarily triathlon-focused, but each one provides insights and inspirational guests that will hit home with triathletes.

The Rich Roll Podcast

Rich Roll hosts one of the most successful podcasts in the health and wellness space. An Ultraman world champion, Roll knows a lot about peak performance. He interviews top athletes, coaches, doctors, and other experts to get their takes on performance, psychology, and more. Even if a guest seems like someone who won’t inspire you in your triathlon training (he sometimes interviews actors and musicians), it’s worth a listen, because you’ll quickly be proven wrong with a tremendous boost of motivation.

The Physical Performance Show

Hosted by Australian physiotherapist (and avid triathlete) Brad Beer, The Physical Performance Show is a great listen. Beer interviews a wide variety of guests, including experts in the physio and performance science fields, professional athletes, elite coaches, and more. Past guests include triathlon greats Javier Gomez, Kristian Blummenfelt, Gwen Jorgensen, and Lionel Sanders. This podcast is sure to get you in the mood to train, and it will carry you through even the toughest of workouts.

The World Triathlon Podcast

The official podcast of World Triathlon is sure to inspire you. It features weekly interviews with some of the top athletes from the World Triathlon circuit. Past guests include Olympic medallists Hayden Wilde and Flora Duffy, Vincent Luis, and many more. The show gives fans of the sport a great look into the lives of World Triathlon’s top athletes.
