WTS Montreal Strava segments

This weekend, the world’s top triathletes are coming to Montreal, QC. On Saturday, the CAMTRI America Cup event begins at 10 AM with the women’s race, followed by the men’s. Then in the afternoon, WTS Montreal starts with the women’s elite competition followed by the men’s race on Sunday. WTS leaders, Katie Zaferes and Mario Mola, will be looking to add to their overall leads with the last competition before the world championships in September.

With so many races and triathletes competing, age groupers and professionals, the Strava segments on course will have some serious competition this weekend. Particularly, the Notre Dame Est/Ouest stretch and Rue Saint Jean Baptiste climb on the bike. On Strava the segment is called, “Boucle 5K (Triathlon Int. Mtl) 2017.” Currently, Simon Bernier Lablonde and Melanie Sauve hold the King/Queen of the Mountain for this segment. On the run, the Old Port of Montreal is packed with Strava segments that will be up for grabs this weekend.

With the age group races ranging from the sprint distance to the long-distance triathlon, hundreds of triathletes will have multiple shots at taking down the KOMs and course records on Strava. The professional WTS athletes do a variation of the age group course.
