The Muskoka Grind Off-Road Racing

Set in spectacular Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve in Huntsville, Ontario, the Muskoka Grind offers four different off-road races that will make the long weekend at the beginning of August an adventure for the entire family.
Races include a full off-road triathlon and relay (1 km swim, 18 to 20 km bike and 8 – 9.5 km run), a short off-road triathlon and relay (500 m swim, 6 to 8 km bike and 3 to 4 km run), an off-road duathlon (3 km run, 18 to 20 km bike and 8 to 9.5 km run) and a trail run (8 to 9.5 km). The courses follow the spectacular trails over the varied terrain within the forest that wind themselves along the many lakes.
Race organizers have organized on-site camping on the Limberlost Forest and Wild Life property for Friday and Saturday nights before the race, with 100 per cent of the proceeds being donated to charity. That means families can enjoy a fun weekend of camping and swimming at beautiful Clear Lake, then round out the weekend with a fun day of racing.
Organized by Element Racing, the group that puts on the ‘Mine’ Over Matter off-road race at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario, the Muskoka Grind is designed to be a destination event that will allow people to celebrate the long weekend in true Canadian holiday style. Those who don’t want to camp can enjoy any of the vast accommodation options available in Muskoka – everything from quaint motels to the award-winning Deerhurst Resort.
Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve is truly a wilderness haven with 20 private lakes and more than 10,000 acres of forest. It promises to be a spectacular setting for a race.
